Time to pull a new one from the form, spruce rails and roasted birdseye maple decks, seats and thwarts.

New Cruiser build


Ribs for a new build. Spring is coming and need a new one to paddle. Soaking for a day or two, bend on this week and mill some planking.

Just about there!

 The final stretch, seats in and paint on.

Caned and installed, period correct with copper tube used for rear spacer to level seat. 
Front seats are mounted directly under rails as on most early canoes


Getting the bottom wet. No stem bands and final coat of paint to go, but water ready



Ready for a paddle


Classic lines, overall shape and tumblehome correct per the original.

On to the second build....
